UI/UX Designer

Datavalet is looking for a UI/UX designer to lead the design effort for our self-serve web portals. In this role, you would be in direct contact with the product owner and other internal stakeholders whose feedback will be central to your work. You would also have the opportunity to establish the design foundation and design language for Datavalet. You will be involved in setting up best practices and working procedures within the team. The ideal UX designer will have good verbal and written communication skills, will be able to work independently and in a team and will demonstrate a willingness to learn and will be able to produce high quality work.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Lead the conversation on issues like navigation, page routing, product page design and more
  • Track usability goals and prepare reports for senior management
  • Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g. responsiveness)
  • Produce high-quality design deliverables that communicate design solutions and facilitate discussion
  • Present design alternatives and effectively communicate rationale and trade-offs
  • Facilitate the product vision by researching, conceiving, sketching, prototyping and user-testing experiences for digital products
  • Translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mock-ups and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences
  • Identify design problems and devise elegant effective solutions
  • Make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core, and new, functions and features
  • Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate your designs
  • Understand product specifications and user psychology
  • Work with Engineering teams and Product Managers to implement attractive designs and viable solutions
  • Communicate design ideas and prototypes to developers and other stakeholders
  • Keep abreast of competitor products and industry trends
  • Interact directly with software developers to define application workflows, system constraints and possible statuses
  • Speak to internal and external customers for input and validation of designs over the development lifecycle

Employment Requirements:

  • Three or more years of UX design experience. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience designing complex solutions for high quality, high scale SaaS products
  • Expertise in standard UX software such as Sketch, OmniGraffle, Axure, InVision, UXPin, Balsamiq, Framer, Photoshop, Illustrator and the like
  • Ability to work with users to understand detailed requirements and design complete user experiences that meet client needs and vision
